PNP breaks backbone of Manila-Mindanao connection

A major drug distribution network that supplies illegal drugs from Metro Manila to Mindanao was busted this weekend with the arrest of two key players in the trafficking operations.

MARLON BAYAN y Salik, 32, of P-6 Bry. Man-Ogob, San Vicente, Camarines Norte; and GUIMALODIN EBRAHIM y Lampa, 27, of Talitay, Maguindanao were arrested in a drug buy bust operation by agents of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) at 7:00PM on Saturday near the SM City Bicutan in Parañaque City.

Ina brief for DILG Secreatary Eduardo M Año, PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas, cited reports from PDEG Director, PBGen Ronald Lee detailing the confiscation of eight (8) kilograms of high-grade Shabu with a street value of approximately P54.4-million from th suspects.

Sinas told Año that the arrested suspects are known to be regular carriers of Shabu from Manila to Mindanao and are part of a large group of drug traffickers composed mostly of natives from Mindanao based in Southern Metro Manila.

The sucessful drug bust-bust on Saturday is among the initial salvo of Case Operation Plan (COPLAN) Blood Stone launched by PDEG purposely to break the backbone of this major drug distribution network, Sinas explained.
