Suspected members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) have reportedly attacked Maguindanao anew on Wednesday night.

Philippine Army Sixth Infantry Division (6ID) Spokesperson LtCol. Anhouvic Atilano confirmed the attempted assault of the group at around 9:10 p.m. in a patrol base of their First Mechanized Battalion in Brgy, Labo-Labo, Shariff Aguak.

Atilano said a platoon from the Eleventh Mechanized Company using four armored vehicles met the group after receiving information that they will be entering the area.

The encounter lasted for about 20 minutes before the suspected BIFF elements retreated. No casualties were reported on the side of the government forces and civilians.
