PNP sees no security threat during ‘Undas’

MANILA — While it has yet to detect any security threat that will mar the annual observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday announced that all of its regional offices are in full alert while its headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City is on heightened alert.

This was stressed by PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa in a Radyo Pilipinas report Monday.

As this developed, the PNP chief also urged the public to doubly secure their homes and ask a neighbor or a barangay official to keep watch on their behalf so that their houses will not be targeted by robbers and other criminals looking for easy prey during the holidays.

Dela Rosa added that all PNP units will keep tight patrols in areas with banks, pawnshops, remittance centers and other business and financial centers to deter would-be robbers.

The PNP chief also expressed confidence that adequate security measures have been in place in all transportation terminals to ensure the orderly travel of passengers going out of town. (PNA)
