PAO: COVID-19 vaccine must undergo thorough evaluation, vaccination must not be mandatory


The Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) believes that the selected Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine to be used in the Philippines must undergo thorough evaluation by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to avoid the recurrence of the Dengvaxia incident.

According to Attorney Erwin Erfe from the PAO Forensic Laboratory, the vaccine must go through the experts first before giving it to the public. The PAO also urges the government not to require everyone to get inoculated. The autonomy of every Filipino must be respected.

Moreover, the office asked to initially vaccinate politicians before everyone else in order to build public confidence towards the vaccine. -PTV News
