Phil. Army confirms vaccination of some soldiers against COVID-19


The Philippine Army confirmed that several soldiers have received vaccination against Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to PA Chief Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana, he knows someone who has been vaccinated but declined to give details regarding the person. However, he stated that the vaccination is a personal choice of the soldiers. It can be recalled that President Rodrigo R. Duterte announced on Saturday that there are several soldiers vaccinated by the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine.

In the side of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), it is currently gathering information in regards with the news. AFP Spokesperson Major General Edgard Arevalo disclosed that the vaccination in their organization have not yet started so they are yet to validate the information.

Meanwhile, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Debold Sinas bared that they do not have any information on any police receiving the vaccine. He added that they are currently waiting for a directive on the date of vaccination for their organization. – Report from Bea Bernardo
