FDA ready to issue ‘compassionate special permit’ to PSG for use of COVID-19 vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is ready to issue a “compassionate special permit” to the Presidential Security Group (PSG) in order to use the unregistered Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine.

This was confirmed by FDA Director General Eric Domingo after the President requested authority for the use of the said vaccine for emergency purposes. The “compassionate special permit” will pave the way for the vaccination of small groups with critical missions such as the PSG that prioritizes the protection of the President.

FDA Dir. Gen. Domingo disclosed that even without the emergency use authorization (EUA), the FDA can give special permits to small groups to be safely vaccinated by doctors in a hospital. – PTV News
