CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — At least 612 police personnel will be deployed in 36 motorist assistance desks and 136 police assistance desks strategically established in cemeteries and major thoroughfares in Bulacan’s 21 towns and cities in anticipation of the influx of people on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Bulacan police director, Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat Jr., alerted all city and municipal police stations and ordered them to intensify their anti-criminality operations and be vigilant to ensure efficient delivery of public safety services to the community before, during and after the observance of Undas.
Caramat said the Bulacan police, in coordination with concerned law enforcement agencies, force multipliers and local government units (LGUs), would strictly implement the standard operating procedure on enhanced managing police operations (EMPO) and other anti-criminality campaigns through the conduct of massive information drive and deployment of police personnel in cemeteries and other strategic areas to ensure the peaceful observance of Undas 2017.
Aside from the deployment of policemen to different cemeteries in the province, Caramat said police presence and immediate police assistance, dissemination of safety tips and information drive has also been undertaken to enhance the public’s awareness on various safety precautions against lawless elements.
Earlier, Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado instructed the Bulacan Rescue Team to coordinate with all the local government units in the province through the city or municipal DRRMOs and other non-government organizations to set up first-aid stations and assume their respective command posts in their areas in view of the upcoming holiday.
Personnel from the Bulacan Rescue Team, together with Provincial Engineers Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police and five NGOs will be deployed in the assistance booth and first-aid station in front of the provincial capitol building here.
Meanwhile, PDRRMO head Felicisima Mungcal reminded the public to be vigilant and advised them to immediately call the Bulacan Rescue hotline number 791-0566 in case of emergency and need for immediate assistance. (Emil Gamos/PNA)
