Peaceful All Saints’ Day in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY — All Saints’ Day in Iloilo province has so far remained peaceful, according to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

In an interview Wednesday afternoon, IPPO Spokesperson Rolando Araño said that there were no reported incidents related to All Saints’ Day despite the influx of people in cemeteries.

He attributed the peace and order to the Police Assistance Desks established in cemeteries and other areas of convergence and the police personnel manning these desks.

However, Araño said a number of prohibited items were confiscated from individuals in cemeteries, mostly deadly weapons.

He said that based on the explanation of those found carrying the prohibited items, they were used to clean their respective areas in the cemetery.

Araño said they still confiscated the items to assure these will not cause harm to other people.

As the IPPO remains on full alert status, Araño hoped to sustain the peace and order in the entire province. (PNA)
