OCTA: Youth aged 18 and below can be COVID-19 super carriers

The OCTA Research Team warned that the youth aged 18 years old and below can be super carriers of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) virus following the plan of Metro Manila mayors to ease the age restriction in the National Capital Region (NCR).

OCTA Research Team fellow Dr. Guido David pointed out that aside from the fact that the COVID-19 vaccine is not designed for children aged 16 years old and below, the UK variant is more transmissible among them.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has currently allowed 15 to 65-year-olds to leave their houses in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ). However, kids aged 18 and below are not yet allowed to enter malls in Metro Manila. -PTV News
