DTI rejects price increase of basic commodities

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) assured that it will not approve the requests to increase the prices of basic commodities.

According to DTI Undersecretary Ruth Castelo, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez has strictly asserted that there will be no price increase in basic necessities and prime commodities amidst the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The department is hoping for the understanding of the manufacturers as their part to help consumers in these hard times.
