Velasco: House vax indemnity bill passage expected on Monday

The Lower House is expected to pass on Monday next week House Bill No. 8648 or the proposed law on vaccine indemnification, House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco confirmed.

In support of the national vaccination program, the bill will provide additional funding for the government to help vaccine beneficiaries who may suffer adverse effects.

“With President Rodrigo Roa Duterte certifying the measure as urgent, the House is expected to approve HB 8648 on second and third reading by Monday,” Velasco disclosed.

“Rest assured that the House will continue to pass legislation that would help sustain the national government’s efforts in addressing the pandemic, so we can all return to normal at the soonest possible time,” Velasco added.

The readiness for the passage of Bayanihan 3 was also assured. The bill is proposing a ₱420-billion fund for COVID-19 measures of the government concerning response and recovery, including a ₱15 billion-fund for COVID-19 treatment and vaccines.
