MERALCO to implement refund in March

The Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) will be implementing a decrease in its electricity charges in March.

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) earlier granted the power provider’s petition to refund ₱13.89 billion to its customers.

MERALCO Spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga confirmed that the company received a copy of the order of the ERC to do the refund within 2 years starting March.

MERALCO will distribute the refund of P0.1528 per kilowatt hour (kWh). This will be reflected as a separate item in the billing statement of its consumers.
