Several studies show obesity can contribute to COVID-19 deaths

Several studies have shown that majority of the individuals who died due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) are obese.

In a study conducted by the John Hopkins University in the United States (US), countries with high number of obese individuals have 10 times more COVID-19 fatality rate.

90% or 2.2 million deaths recorded in the US and Great Britain have a high percentage of obesity. Although there is still no hard evidence that weight can affect the effect of COVID-19, several experts assert how obesity can factor in the effects of the virus. -PTV News
