Poe sees private sector as an extra arm for vaccination program

Senator Grace Poe says it is about time to scale up the resources, skills and infrastructure of the government with more significant help from the private sector to efficiently and quickly vaccinate Filipinos against COVID-19.

The lady senator wants the private sector to prove valuable in raising greater awareness
about the vaccines, especially among the segment of the population wary about its effects.

“Initiatives of private companies and organizations should be tapped in the negotiations, procurement and distribution to increase the volume of vaccines that are available as COVID-19 infections surge,” Sen. Poe issued in a statement.

In line with the surge of cases daily, the lawmaker sees the private and public
partnership as a good deal in speeding up the vaccination efforts of the government.

“The vaccine scarcity has become a hurdle that we must overcome at lightning speed.
Public-private-people partnerships will be our encompassing, crucial strategy
to ensure availability and equitable access to the vaccines,” she added

For the Chairperson of Senate Committee on Public Services, this is a win-win solution for both parties. Eunice Samonte/JBB
