By Bernard Jaudian

Operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of the Novaliches Police Station of the Quezon City Police Department (QCPD PS-4) recovered 125 grams of methamphetamine (‘shabu’) valued at P850,000 during a buy-bust operation they conducted last night (April 7) in Brgy. Greater Fairview, Quezon City.

Two suspects were arrested and identified as Noraima Midtimbang alias “Madam” and Annan Acoy alias “Jenny.”

According to QCPD Director Police Brigadier Gen. Danilo Macerin, a confidential informant sent information to the station about the involvement of the suspects with illegal drug peddling in the area.

The operation was conducted around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday night in the parking lot of a fastfood restaurant.

After the poser-buyer purchased P95,000 pesos worth of shabu, the signal was given to arrest Midtimbang and Acoy.

Aside from three large sachets of shabu, the police also recovered the buy-bust money, a pouch, shoulder bag, and a cellphone used by the suspects for illegal drug transactions.

Charges against Midtimbang and Acoy for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared.
