Business confidence higher for 2021

A survey showed that the business confidence of entrepreneurs has increased for 2021.

In the recent business expectation survey by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in the first quarter of 2021, the confidence index of entrepreneurs have increased from 57.7% in the fourth quarter of 2020 to 60.5%.

The high index is due to the easing of quarantine restrictions, gradual reopening of several sectors, and the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines.

The survey was conducted on February to March 2021 before the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus bubble was placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). However, the BSP asserted that it is too early to know if the said quarantine has a negative effect on the confidence index of entrepreneurs.
