Second batch of CoronaVac arrives in Cagayan

A total of 6,000 doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Tuguegarao City on Friday to continue the inoculation of healthcare workers in Cagayan Valley amid rising cases of COVID-19 in the region. 

This is the second batch of CoronaVac sent to Region 2 which now has a total of 26,640 doses composed of 16,940 doses of CoronaVac. There were also 10,700 doses of AstraZeneca. 

Department of Health (DOH) Region 2 Director Rio Magpantay said they are aiming to inoculate 59,208 individuals under Priority List A1. At least 21,238 persons or 35 percent have been vaccinated. 

The quarantine classifications of several areas in Region 2 are being escalated due to the reported fast transmission of the virus. 

Santiago City was placed under hard lockdown, Tuguegarao City is currently under enhanced community quarantine, and Quirino is under modified enhanced community quarantine.
