1,948 more jeepneys back on road starting April 13

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced on Monday (April 12) the opening on April 13 of 62 additional routes in Metro Manila for 1,948 traditional and modern public utility jeepneys (PUJs).

 This is in accordance with the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) directive to expand the opening of more routes to ease the situation of commuters.

 Roadworthy public utility vehicles are allowed to operate as long as they have a valid and existing Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) or Application for Extension of Validity.

Each unit must have a registration with Personal Passenger Insurance Policy, and are required to post a QR code as replacement for a special permit on their vehicles.
