Distributed ECQ ‘ayuda’ for NCR Plus reaches ₱7.5B

The financial assistance from the national government that was distributed to those affected by the two-week enhanced community quarantine in NCR Plus has reached ₱7.5 billion.

The national government imposed the strict quarantine measure in late March to mid-April after the number of COVID-19 cases surged in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.

According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the aid was received by 7.4 million beneficiaries.

DILG Spokesperson Jonathan Malaya said the distribution of “ayuda” [help] will continue even with NCR Plus under modified enhanced community quarantine up to April 30. He also reminded those concerned to follow the minimum health standards in the distribution to prevent the further spread of the disease.
