Paggamit ng kama sa COVID-19 sa PGH, tumaas

Muling tumaas ang hospital bed utilization para sa mga pasyente ng COVID-19 sa Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

Ayon sa tagapagsalita ng PGH na si Dr. Jonas del Rosario, nasa mahigit 90% na ang okupado sa mga kamang nakalaan para sa COVID-19. Puno na rin daw ang kanilang intensive care units (ICU) at emergency rooms.

 “Nagulat kami kahapon, 234 hanggang ngayon. So nandoon pa rin kami sa mga 220 to 230 patients na nag-o-occupy ng aming beds. We have 250 beds for COVID. So hopefully mas bumaba pa ‘to sana next week,” ani Del Rosario nitong Martes (Mayo 4). 

Dahil dito, humihirit pa ang PGH ng extension ng modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) sa National Capital Region (NCR) Plus. Pero ang National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), hiniling nang tapusin ang MECQ ngayong buwan.

Ayon kay NEDA Secretary Karl Chua, mahihirapan ang ekonomiya ng bansa kung patatagalin pa ang MECQ sa Metro Manila.

Ibaba na dapat aniya sa general community quarantine (GCQ) ang NCR at kailangang paigtingin ng mga lokal na pamahalaan ang Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat, at Reintegrate strategy.

 

Pagbaba ng mga kaso

Sa ulat ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kagabi (Mayo 3), sinabi ng kalihim na bumababa na ang mga bagong kaso sa bansa.

“From April 12 to 18, tumaas tayo, 10,187 ang average 7-day cases; at April 19 to 25 ay bumaba po tayo ng 8,782. Ngayon po nasa 8,227 na lang po tayo,” ulat ni Duque.

Idinagdag din ng kalihim na itinaas na rin ang kapasidad ng mga ICU sa NCR.

Nauna nang sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire na kailangan munang mailagay sa low risk o mas mababa sa 50% ang healthcare utilization rate bago lumipat sa GCQ.

Ang utilization rate sa NCR nitong Lunes para sa ICU beds, isolation beds, at ward beds ay nasa 74%, 50%, at 61%. – Ulat ni Mark Fetalco/AG-jlo
