The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) released today (May 15) the allowed operating capacities of business establishments in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) with “heightened restrictions.”
The government has placed the National Capital Region Plus area — Metro Manila, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, and Laguna — under GCQ ‘with heightened restrictions’ from May 15 to 31.
Based on Memorandum Circular No. 20-19, s. 2021, food preparation establishments may be opened at 20% capacity for dine-in services, and 50% for al fresco or outdoor dining.
Personal care services such as salons and aesthetic centers are now allowed to resume operations under a 30% operating capacity, provided that minimum health standards are observed.
In terms of social events strictly under Department of Tourism (DOT)-accredited establishments, a 10% venue or seating capacity is permitted.
Outdoor tourist attractions may also operate at 30% capacity, subject to existing health protocols.
The DTI clarified that indoor venues for sports and tourist attractions, and meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), must remain closed in areas under GCQ with heightened restrictions.
Below is the DTI’s full list of operating capacities allowed for establishments and activities under all types of community quarantine:
