Senator Christopher “Bong” Go tells the authorities to deploy military reservists to expedite the vaccination rollout and inoculation in the country hampered due to the lack of human resources.
In a report from the Laging Handa public briefing on Saturday (May 22), Go said that the military reservists – consisting of doctors, nurses, and medical technologists – can aid medical and other health care needs nationwide.
He also noted the need to add more jab sites in order to increase the number of people getting vaccinated prior to the expiration of the vaccines.
“Kung kailangang gawing 24/7 ang pagbabakuna, gawin natin ito upang maiwasan na may mag-expire o masayang na mga bakuna at para hindi rin magkumpulan ang mga tao doon,” the senator said.
“I spoke with vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez who said that they have discussed the said suggestion and also said that they will use military, Philippine National Police (PNP), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) hospitals and camps as vaccination centers for government frontliners,” he added.
Go also said that all logistical and transportation challenges must be resolved to avoid interruptions in the vaccine rollout. –rir
