PRRD signs law lowering height requirement for law enforcement agencies

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed into law a bill lowering the height requirement for law enforcement agencies.

The Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Bureau of Corrections (BOC) are among the agencies included under Republic Act number 11549.

The measure was signed on Wednesday (May 26).

Under the RA 11549, the new minimum height requirement for male applicants is from 5’3” to 5’1”, while the new requirement for female applicants is from 5’1” to 4’9”.  

Moreover, applicants from cultural communities or indigenous groups are exempted from the height requirement.
