Vax rollout for A4 group continues in NCR

Thousands of workers in the A4 priority group have been inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines in various local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila.

In San Juan City, there were 2,500 individuals who received their jabs today, June 9. Non-residents are welcome, as long as they are working within the city.

Meanwhile, in Manila, the authorities are implementing a first come, first served basis with 900 doses allocated for each vaccination site.

“Pagdating sa deployment, kanya kanyang innovation tayo,” Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno said.

In Mandaluyong, the LGU does not accept walk-ins, except for individuals included in A2 and A3.

More than 3,000 individuals under A4 category have been inoculated in the said city.

Meanwhile, a vaccination site in Caloocan City was flooded yesterday, June 8, due to heavy rains. Despite the flooding, the Caloocan Health Department continued the inoculation.

“Umulan o umaraw,… itutuloy pa rin natin ang bakuna,” said Caloocan Health Department Midwife Supervisor Beth Dela Cruz.

National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez, Jr. recently apologized for the delay in shipment and arrival of vaccines to the Philippines.

“I apologize for the delay… I made a promise na magkakaroon tayo ng seven million [doses] last May, and considering [na] talagang nag-aagawan [ang] lahat ng countries ng suplay, hindi natin masasabi talaga na magkaroon ng slippage,” Galvez said. – Report from Patrick de Jesus / CF-rir
