Palace: Full vaccination not mandatory for outbound travelers

Malacañang clarified on Sunday (June 13) that complete vaccination against COVID-19 is not mandatory for Filipino outbound travelers.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement that complete vaccination is only required for those who want to shorten their quarantine once they return to the Philippines.

The national government initially ordered that returning travelers must undergo quarantine for seven days.

Meanwhile, under the IATF Reso. No. 120, issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), fully vaccinated individuals must present their vaccination card before traveling outside of the country.

“A fully vaccinated individual must carry his or her vaccination card which must be verified prior to his/her departure from the country of origin prior to boarding, and a certification issued prior to his/her departure by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), or the City Health Officer of the local government unit which administered the last dose necessary for full vaccination,” the IATF explained.
