President Rodrigo Duterte has extended for six months the suspension of the abrogation of the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) between the Philippines and the United States.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. made the announcement on Monday evening, following his meeting with the Chief Executive and Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez.

He said the extension takes place as Duterte “studies both sides, further addressing his concerns regarding particular aspects of the agreement.”
Duterte has terminated the agreement with the US in February 2020, but the suspension was held off twice in June and November 2020. -rir
