Health workers to receive another risk allowance

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced on Saturday (June 26) the release of a P9.02 billion fund for another tranche of special risk allowance for public and private health workers in the country.

The DBM said the allocated fund will cover special risk allowance payment “not exceeding P5,000.00 per month from December 20, 2020 to June 30, 2021.”

“With the funds now made available to the DOH [Department of Health], qualified public and private health workers can expect the payment of the SRA no later than June 30, 2021,” the DBM said.

The DOH requested on June 23 the allocation of the said fund to support the country’s healthcare system.

“The DBM is committed to fulfill its mandate of promoting the efficient and effective management of the national budget to support its budget priorities while also ensuring that the needs of the Filipino people are met, especially of healthcare workers in this time of pandemic,” the DBM said.  – Report from Mela Lesmoras/AG-rir
