Novavax COVID-19 vax may be next potential EUA grantee in PH

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Sunday (July 4) that Novavax COVID-19 vaccine may be next on the list of vaccines to be issued with an emergency use authorization (EUA).

According to FDA Director-General Eric Domingo in a DZBB radio interview, the EUA listing of Novavax has to be granted first by the United Kingdom, India, and America, before they could complete their application in the Philippines.

Novavax is a COVID-19 vaccine that was developed in the United States and India, and is “very promising” and effective against the double mutant Delta variant.

It is a protein-based vaccine that is more than 93% effective against COVID-19 variants.

To date, seven vaccine developers have been granted an EUA here, including Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Gamaleya, Johnson & Johnson, Bharat Biotech, and Moderna. – Report from Mark Fetalco / CF –  jlo
