DOH to LGUs: Implement new IATF protocols properly for fully vaccinated individuals

The Department of Health (DOH) appealed to the local government units (LGUs) to implement the new protocols properly for fully vaccinated individuals.

On Monday (July 5), DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the LGUs need to fix the quality and details of the vaccination cards especially for those who will use it for international travels following the reports of some local governments do not have the proper database of the vaccination program and some do not distribute the vaccination cards properly.

“Ang sabi nga natin sa IATF ang rekomendasyon, it has to be uniformly implemented, ibig sabihin itong binibigay natin na incentives for fully vaccinated, lahat dapat ng local governments should be able to implement this, also na hindi mo na kailangan hingan pa na mag-quarantine o kaya mag-test ng RT-PCR or antigen ang ating mga kababayan na pupunta sa inyong lugar,” she said.

Under the new protocols issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), interzonal travel of fully vaccinated individuals with COVID-19 vaccination cards or with certificate of quarantine completion that shows the vaccination status of the holder as alternative for RT-PCR tests are now allowed.

Meanwhile, the department reported that the Philippines have administered a total of 11,708,029 doses as of July 4, 6:00 p.m. 8,839,124 have received their first doses while 2,868,905 have already completed the required 2 doses.

The total doses administered in the 18th week of the national vaccination reached a record high of 1,778,989 doses.
