By Alec Go

Around 170,000 doses of government-procured Sputnik V vaccines are expected to be delivered in the country on Wednesday (July 7), in line with the strengthened national vaccination program.

Based on Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque’s presentation during his July 5 briefing, the shipment carries both first and second components of the Russian-developed vaccine.

On June 23, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. announced the delivery postponement of the 50,000 Sputnik V vaccine doses dedicated to those who have received their initial dose in early June.

The first Sputnik V shipment of 15,000 doses was delivered on May 1, followed by another 15,000 doses on May 12, another 50,000 doses on May 30, and 100,000 doses on June 11.

Data from the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 show that 11,708,029 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as of July 4, covering 8,839,124 first dose and 2,868,905 second dose. -rir
