DOLE to validate vaccination cards of returning overseas Filipinos

The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) will counter-check the vaccination cards of fully vaccinated returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs),  Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Sec. Silvestre Bello III announced on Tuesday (July 6).

Citing Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 123-C, Bello said fully vaccinated ROFs and OFWs in countries or jurisdictions outside the Philippines must carry their official documentation of complete vaccination or their International Certificate of Vaccination validated through the POLO.

These returning Filipinos must also present their valid passport or travel document and verified employment contract to the POLO offices in their host country.

Under DOLE Order No. 226 series of 2021, OFWs are considered “fully vaccinated” after two weeks of having received the second dose of a two-dose series of COVID-19 vaccine, or after two weeks of having received a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine.

Vaccines administered to individuals must also be included on the list of COVID-19 vaccines under the emergency use authorization or compassionate special permit issued by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration, or under the COVID-19 vaccine emergency use listing of the World Health Organization.
