SWS: 45% of Filipinos willing to get vaccinated

According to the latest survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) released on Wednesday, about 45% of Filipinos are willing to get vaccinated against the coronavirus disease.

The SWS survey, which was conducted from June 23 to 26, showed that the data is 13% higher than the May 2021 result of the same survey.

Of the 45%, 36% said that they “will surely get it” while 9% replied that they “will probably get it”.

According to the May 2021 survey, 23% of the respondents answered that they “will surely get” the COVID-19 vaccine while 9% answered that they “will probably get it.”

In the June survey, it also showed that 24% of adult Filipinos are still uncertain about getting vaccinated, while 3% said that they “will probably not get it”, and 18% said that they will “not surely get it.”

Meanwhile, the Filipinos willing to get vaccinated are highest in Metro Manila with 49% who are willing, 16% percent are uncertain, and 8% are unwilling.

In Visayas, the survey showed the lowest number of willingness to get inoculated with 41% willing, 21% uncertain, and 31% unwilling to get vaccinated.

The said survey also showed that 7% have already received their first dose of the COVID-19 shots, while 3% have already received their second dose.

As of Monday (July 12), the Department of Health said that 13,196,282 COVID-19 doses have been administered in the country since the vaccination program started in March.

Of this number, 3,526,342 people have been fully vaccinated, while 9,669,940 have already received their first dose as of July 11. -rir
