BOC clears 27-M COVID-19 vaccine vials, 15-K PPEs

Ports in the country continue to expedite the release of vaccines and protective equipment in support of the country’s national pandemic response, as the Bureau of Customs’ (BOC) latest report showed the agency has cleared the entry of more than 27 million COVID-19 vaccine doses. 

Based on the bureau’s data as of July 18, a total of 27,928,210 COVID-19 vaccine vials from 35 batches of 47 shipments have arrived at the port of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) since February 2021.

Among the vaccines that the Philippines has received are 14.5 million Sinovac doses, 6,858,900 AstraZeneca, 3,240,850 Johnson & Johnson, 2,478,060 Pfizer BioNTech, 500,400 Moderna, and 350,000 Sputnik V. 

 In terms of personal protective equipment (PPE), a total of 15,961 shipments have been released for the country’s expanded healthcare capacity.

Vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said the country is expecting 16 million vaccine doses to arrive this month. As of July 18, more than 15 million doses have been administered to priority recipients nationwide. – (BOC)/NGS, AG- jlo
