Pinay swimmer fails to advance to finals in Tokyo Olympics

Filipino-American swimmer Remedy Rule failed to advance to the finals after placing 15th in the semifinals of the women’s 200-meter butterfly event in the Tokyo Olympics this Wednesday (July 28).

Rule clocked in at 2:12.89. Only the top 8 will push through to the finals.

Rule had qualified for the women’s 200-meter butterfly semifinals event after placing 15th in the overall heats at the Tokyo Aquatics Center last Tuesday (July 27).

The Southeast Asian Games silver medalist had finished sixth with a time of 2:12:23 in Heat 3.

Rule did not qualify for the women’s 100-meter butterfly semifinals.

Meanwhile, swimmer Luke Gebbie finished 5th in Heat 5 of the 100-meter freestyle event, clocking in at 49.64 seconds and ranking 35th in overall rankings.

Only the top 16 pushed through to the semifinals.

Gebbie is set to compete in the 50-meter freestyle event on Friday. (PTV Sports) PG – jlo
