Bacolod City ramps up its COVID-19 vaccine rollout with mobile, drive-thru, and evening shift vaccination for economic frontliners and other eligible individuals.

In a series of Facebook posts, the Bacolod City Public Information Office (PIO) said the local government vaccination program’s innovations aim to inoculate eligible residents under priority groups A1, A2, A3, and A4.

“Vax-i,” the city’s mobile vaccination drive, targets to inoculate market vendors and public transport drivers who are unable to leave their work to go to the vaccination sites.

Meanwhile, the city’s drive-thru vaccination program that started on Sunday (Aug. 15) accommodates pre-registered healthcare workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.

This week, Bacolod City is set to implement a graveyard shift vaccination drive for various call center employees.

“I know how important our BPO [Business Process Outsourcing] industry is to the economic life of the city, that is why we are planning to target evening and graveyard shift call center agents,”  Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said in an interview during his visit to the  SMX Convention Center on Aug. 16.

In a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug. 15), the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) and COVID-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC) said innovations in the city’s vaccination program were made “accessible to everyone to achieve herd immunity and eradicate COVID-19 as fast as possible.” – jlo
