DepEd prepares for opening of SY 2021-2022

The Department of Education (DepEd) prepares for the approaching opening of the school year 2021 to 2022.

In an online forum on Tuesday (Aug. 24), the DepEd said it is currently organizing the requirements for the students’ return to classes for SY 2021 to 2022. The department said one of the points it is focusing on is the ongoing enrolment that started on Aug. 16 until Sep. 13.

The DepEd bared that online transactions will be implemented for the students’ registration due to the threat of COVID-19.

“Atin pong pinapaalalahan ang mga magulang at mag-aaral na huwag nang hintayin yung towards the last day ng enrollment at magpatala na para malaman din natin kung ilan ang ating mga magiging mag-aaral at para ma-organize ng mga guro ang kanilang mga klase,” DepEd Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan reminded.

In relation to this, the Education department is set to launch the ‘OPLAN Balik Eskwela Command Center’ from Sep. 6 to Sep. 17 to answer questions and concerns, particularly from the parents and the public.

Moreover, it established an ‘OPLAN Balik Eskwela Inter-Agency Task Force’ along with other government agencies concerned, to ensure the proper and safe back-to-school programs of the students in September.

Meanwhile, based on the recent data of the DepEd, around 7.9 million students have enrolled for SY 2021 to 2022.
