ICTSI ramps up vax rollout at Nayong Pilipino

Vaccination rollout at the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) is being ramped up with the inauguration of its drive-thru vaccination facility on Tuesday (Aug. 24).

International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) Executive Vice President Christian Gonzalez said in a public briefing on Tuesday that daily appointments at the NPF logs between 4,000 to 5,000, but only 2,500 individuals arrive for the bookings.

“In terms of capacity, iyong maximum capacity namin sa Nayong Pilipino vaccine center is maximized at 15,000 people per day. Of course, ang importante diyan is bakuna at tao,” Gonzalez said.

Individuals must register at the Parañaque local government unit (LGU).

“Sa Parañaque sila mag-re-register. Of course, Parañaque as the host LGU is prioritizing iyong kanilang mga residente but they are also opening it up to non-residents of Parañaque. But it’s very important that we follow the DOH [Department of Health] and NTF [National Task Force] protocols which require the LGU to be the one in charge of these registrations,” Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez said there are 50,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses currently allocated to the vaccination site, with an 80% accomplishment rate for this allocation.

The P250-million vaccination site at the NPF in Parañaque City was opened to the public on Aug. 12, with a maximum capacity of administering vaccines to 50,000 individuals daily. – CF-rir
