2 drug suspects nabbed in buy-bust yield P1.7-M worth of shabu

Some P1.7 million worth of alleged shabu was confiscated in a drug bust operation conducted by joint personnel of Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 5 (RDEU5), Las Piñas City Police, and Zapote Sub-Station that resulted in the arrest of two female teenagers who are both on the government’s drugs watchlist.

According to the report by Las Piñas police chief Police Col. Rodel Pastor, at about 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 27, a buy-bust operation was conducted at Manuyo Tramo St., Brgy. Manuyo Uno, Las Piñas City.

The suspects were identified as Kimberly Cruz Teves, 19, and Christine Joy Magdatu Caballero, 18, both of Las Piñas City.

Confiscated from their possession were one brown envelope containing an estimated 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (‘Shabu’), six brown envelopes containing an estimated 25 grams shabu, one Nokia cellular phone model TA-1034, one P1,000 bill placed on top of the boodle money, one Okada paper bag, and one mini Lazada brown box.

The seized items believed to be shabu weighed more or less 250 grams, with a standard drug price value of P1.7 million.

The arrested suspects and recovered pieces of evidence are now under the custody of PNP-DEG Special Operations Unit 5 (SOU5) for documentation and proper disposition.

“Ang milyon na halaga ng droga na nakuha ng pinagsanib na pwersa ng PNP-DEG, PDEA [Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency], at SPD [Southern Police District] ay muli na naman sanang sisira sa buhay ng ating mga kababayan na gagamit nito,” SPD Director Police Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said.

“Dahil sa agarang aksyon ng ating mga tauhan, ito ay agad na nakumpiska. Binabati ko ang mga masigasig nating mga tauhan na patuloy na nagtatrabaho upang malinis ang ating komunidad sa ipinagbabawal na gamot.” (PNP) – jlo
