Manila City Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso announced on Monday, Aug. 30, that the city of Manila has vaccinated more than 70% of its target population.

In a Facebook live post, Domagoso said that a total of 1,982,567 vaccines were administered in Manila.

According to data from the Manila Health Department as of 6:00 p.m. last Monday, 1,253,874 of the qualified population or those 18 years old and above have been vaccinated and 767,500 are fully vaccinated.

“Dalawang linggo na tayong lagpas sa inaasahan nating target,” Domagoso said.

Based on data by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), 117.72% of the target population have been vaccinated while 72.06% are fully vaccinated.

Going with the Department of Health’s (DOH) data, 92.78% of the target population have been vaccinated while 56.79% are fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Domagoso also expressed relief regarding the establishment of the Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital amid the pandemic.

– bny
