Over 33-M COVID-19 jabs administered in 26 weeks

Five months after the Philippines started their COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the country has now administered a total of 33,099,392 doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

As of Sunday (Aug. 29), some 13,784,681 individuals are fully vaccinated, while at least 19,314,711 received their first shot of COVID-19 vaccine.

The Department of Health on Tuesday (Aug. 31) said that the total doses administered in the 26th week of the national vaccination program reached 2,710,232 doses.

National Task Force Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez reported during the Talk to the People on Monday (Aug. 30) that the daily average jabs per day from Aug. 1 stands at 435,150.

The total number of fully vaccinated individuals per priority population are as follows:

  • Medical frontliners and expanded population (A1) – 1,947,635
  • Senior citizens (A2) – 3,928,126
  • Persons with comorbidities (A3) – 5,048,242
  • Frontliners in essential sectors (A4) – 2,386,499
  • Indigent population (A5) – 474,179

For the months of September and October, the Philippines is expecting the arrival of about 25 million and 29.5 million vaccine doses, respectively, from different COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers. – rir
