2 LPAs in PAR bring cloudy skies, rain – PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring two low-pressure areas (LPAs) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), based on its latest bulletin report on Sunday (Sept. 5).

The two LPAs were located in the West Southwest of Basco, Batanes, and East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

PAGASA said the two LPAs may not develop into tropical cyclones but will cause cloudy skies and rain due to thunderstorms in the areas near them.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands caused by the LPA, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be experienced over mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Aurora, Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon due to localized thunderstorm.

According to the bulletin, another LPA outside PAR at about 1,620 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar is being monitored. – Report from PTV News / CF
