Medical professionals volunteer in Cebu vax drive

Hundreds of volunteer medical practitioners have teamed up with the provincial government of Cebu to ramp up its vaccination campaign.

Due to the lack of medical personnel in vaccination sites, medical professionals from the All-Terrain Medical Relief Organization (AMRO) participate in vaccination roll-out of local government units with low turnout of total vaccinated residents.

“Ang ayuda na aming maitutulong [ay] in terms of volunteers at sinusuportahan lang talaga namin ang mga local vaccination program sa bawat municipality,” AMRO spokesperson Dr. Shawn Espina told PTV.

Espina added that the team aims to vaccinate individuals residing in remote areas, including Cebu City, Talisay, Minglanilla, and Naga City.

As of Sunday (Sept. 5), the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in Cebu is about 1,521,957. Of this, 911,011 were first dose while 610,946 were second dose inoculations. – Report from John Aroa (PTV Cebu) / CF – rir
