DOST to hold Nat’l Inventors Week in Isabela

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will celebrate this year’s National Inventors Week (NIW) in the province of Isabela, specifically in Cauayan City, on November 20-24.

Director of the DOST office in the Cagayan Valley region, Sancho Mabborang, said the department, its Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), the Filipino Inventors Society Producer Cooperative (FISPC, the Cauayan City government and the Isabela State University would jointly facilitate the celebration of NIW in Isabela.

Mabborang said the NIW is a week-long activity that would involve local and foreign exhibits of inventions and various symposia and would serve as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information, including the facilitation of market opportunities to encourage the generation, promotion and development of Filipino inventive capabilities.

“This is the first time that this national event will be conducted outside Manila and Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) is proud to host such event,” he said.

Among the activities lined up for the celebration are symposia, exhibits of inventions, Science and Technology tour, and invention contest. (PNA)
