PRRD to participate in 76th session of UNGA

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will virtually participate in the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Wednesday (Sep. 22).

According to Malacañang, the President is set to “advance Philippine positions on global issues of key concern” regarding the universal access to COVID-19 vaccines, climate change, human rights, and international and regional security developments.

He is expected to give his message on the first day of the high-level general debate on Sep. 22 between 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

This is the second attendance of Duterte in the UNGA, following his attendance last year.

At the 75th session of UNGA, the Philippine president laid out the national policies espoused by his administration that are anchored on the timeless and borderless values of friendship and unity not only on the local scene but in the global level as well, as the world faces the common threats of the COVID-19 pandemic, terrorism, and territorial disputes.
