Former solon and seasoned legislator joins DBP Board

State-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) has welcomed a new member of its Board of Directors  – Dante V. Liban.

Liban was a former city councilor and minority leader of the Quezon City Government; a Congressional representative of the Second District of Quezon City in the 9th, 10th, and 11th Congress; and a former director-general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority   (TESDA).

He occupied key positions in both local and international organizations including deputy secretary-general of the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (precursor of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry); executive secretary of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines; and administrative director of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Working Group on Industrial Complementation.

Liban also served as regent in the University of the Philippines System, Mindanao State University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Philippine Normal University, and as a trustee of the Trinity University of Asia.

He holds a doctorate in organizational development and degrees in law and public administration, among others, and has earned honorary doctorates in the fields of humanities, law, education, public administration, and pedagogy.

Liban attended advanced leadership programs at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard Institute of International Development, the International Institute of Labor in Switzerland, and Haggai Institute in Hawaii. (DBP) –  jlo
