Tropical storm Maring maintains increase in strength

Tropical storm Maring continues to strengthen as it moves north-northwestward at 30 km/h.

According to Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 12 which was released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 10), the center of the storm hit east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan at 730 kilometers.

Maring has a wind speed of up to 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of 105 kilometers per hour.

Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
Ilocos Norte
Ilocos Sur

Kalinga
Ifugao
Mountain Province

Surigao del Sur
Dinagat Islands
Northern portion of Benguet
Eastern portion of Samar
Eastern portion of Northern Samar

PAGASA said the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property.

Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. -PG – jlo
