Inter-agency operation seizes P262-M worth of shabu

A composite team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) of BOC Manila International Container Port (MICP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Task Force Noah, NOLCOM, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), and Philippine National Police (PNP) managed a buy-bust operation in Angeles City, Pampanga resulting to the seizure of approximately 38 kilos of suspected shabu with a street value of P262.20 million on Oct. 18, 2021.

The follow-up operation led by PDEA was in connection with another buy-bust operation conducted on Oct. 16 at Dasmarinas, Cavite resulting in the seizure of approximately 240 kilos of shabu estimated to be worth P1.656 billion and the arrest of two individuals.

The encounter in Angeles City resulted in the discovery of approximately 38 kilos of suspected shabu with a value of P262,200,200. Other pieces of evidence found were four pieces of Caliber .45 pistols, two iPhone cellphones, a weighing scale with charger, four pieces of genuine one-thousand-peso bill, on top of boodle money, and a box of Ziploc Transparent Plastic.

The said seizure is under Sections 119 and 1113 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act concerning RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.– bny
