San Nicolas, Pangasinan, first LGU in Ilocos to spearhead pediatric vaccination

San Nicolas, Pangasinan along with some hospitals in other provinces are the first in Region 1 to begin the pediatric vaccination rollout against COVID-19.

This includes children from 12 to 17 years old with comorbidities.

“We are delighted to know [that] we are one of the launching sites para sa buong Region 1. Very proud ako na sabihin na tayo lang daw po and RHU-LGU na napabilang dahil sa majority po ay hospital set-up po,” San Nicolas Mayor Dr. Alicia Primicias-Enriquez said in an interview with PTV.

A total of 26 children were first vaccinated against COVID-19.

According to Enriquez, pediatric vaccination will continue among the remaining population of children after Undas. Children with no comorbidities may soon be vaccinated as well.

“Malaking pasasalamat sa Panginoon kasi zero [ang] adverse effects following immunization. Walang major na talagang naitakbo sa ospital,” Enriquez said.

There are 13,395 or half of the population of the said town who have completed their vaccination and 60% are waiting for their second dose. – PTV News/PG-rir
