The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) encourages all members to avail themselves of the computer loan program that will end on Dec. 31, 2021.
“Ito pong programa ay inilunsad kasabay nitong COVID-19. Ang intention nito ay para mabigyan ng computer equipment, printers iyon pong mga government employees na nag-work from home,” GSIS Officer in Charge and Vice President of the Visayas Office Deity Manampan said during the Laging Handa public briefing on Tuesday (Nov. 16).
According to Manampan, members may borrow up to P30,000 with a 6% interest rate per annum.
As of yesterday (Nov. 15), 282 members have availed of the loan which amounts to P8.4 million.
“Number one, dapat permanent employees lang po na at least nakabayad ng tatlong buwan na social insurance contribution or GSIS premiums,” Manampan said regarding who may avail of the loan.
“At the time of the loan, dapat hindi po siya naka-leave without pay. Ibig sabihin in active service siya at the time of the application. Wala po siyang pending na kaso, walang admin case o walang criminal case,” he added. – bny
