Pfizer submits EUA for pediatric vaccination for minors aged 5 to 11

Pfizer has submitted an emergency use authorization (EUA) application for the COVID-19 vaccine for ages five to 11 years old.

The vaccination of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine to five to 11-year-olds may possibly start this year.

In an interview on Sunday (Dec. 12), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director-General Eric Domingo confirmed that Pfizer submitted the application for the EUA of their vaccine for ages five to 11 years olds.

The vaccine experts panel in the Philippines is currently studying said application.

The vaccine was first approved for such age groups in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia. – Report from Naomi Tiburcio/PG – bny
